Una settimana, quella internazionale dedicata al design ideata e prodotta dall'Aiap, in cui Napoli, dal 6 all'u ottobre, si è posta come capitale europea del design grafico, accogliendo generosamente i numerosi ospiti e quanti sono anivati in città per seguire tutti gli incontri organizzati per la fitta manifestazione, in cui si sono avvicendati dal mattino sino a sera inoltrata, seminari, workshop, conferenze, tavole rotonde, mostre, open studios, incontri. Aiap Women in Design Award (AWDA) : Short History and Perspectives

The biennial award organized by Aiap (the Italian Associa- tion of Visual Communication Design) intends to investigate the languages, poetics and different approaches to commu- nication design and explore the conditions in which women designers work. Not to examine a protected area or search for peculiarities characterizing women’s design methodol- ogy (Ferrara, 2018). Nevertheless, to act as a place whence to observe a partly hidden dimension, to use single projects to bring to light the wide-ranging, diverse world of women communication designers (Piscitelli, 2015). The identification, within the contemporary scenario of communication design, of those figures who have reached a level of excellence (due to professional itineraries, researches, experiments), is not a simple task: the difficulty is not knowing who these figures are, but the responsibility of offering, in a context such as Aiap Design Per, relevant personalities as well as a high level in the various workshops, where many areas of our disciplines are tackled, from typography to editorial design and graphic design for cultural goals.
